A Lil Elf Visits...
What a gorgeous visitor we had in lucky Rm I yesterday. He also showed up at our amazing carol concert last night.
Beau visits Rm I
Beau the Blue Heeler bounced into our lives last Thursday. He is Sarah's pet dog and he loved visiting. He played with all the kids but we discovered Quinn was better at fetching?
Beau even left us a little, fragrant gift. (Luckily Sarah's lovely Dad picked it up)
Thanks Sarah we had a great visit with Beau.
Rainbow Children
During a quiet and respectful library session we noticed that with our Rm J extras we could make a
T-shirt rainbow!

Keiren's dog Ace
Last term my dog Ace came to school. Ace and me had a running race. He bet me by miles. Everybody loved Ace. I threw the ball and he sprinted after the ball, and then everyone got to pat him. From Keiren.
JAPAN
For my intrepid journey, I researched Japan. Japan has some very weird foods. They eat raw fish and whale but every knows about rice and sushi. Some of the other food they eat is shark, tofu, sweet and sour pork, noodles and dumplings. Did you know that Japan's population is 127.3 million and New Zealand is only a tiny 4.473 million. That's a big difference in population. Also, with Japan having a similar land area to New Zealand, it's really squished. Also in Japan, there are amazing cherry blossoms for most of the year, ever year.

Anya's teach the teacher
In term 1 the class did Teach the Teacher. For mine I did science . My science was called Walking Water . To do this you need 2 cups , paper towels , water and if want food coloring . Fill 1 cup half way and the other cup a quarter of the way . Secondly add any color food coloring ( optional ) , Put down the 2 cups on a flat surface and slightly twist the two paper towels , and put 1 end of the towel in any cup and the other side in the cup beside it. Lastly watch the quarter of water go in the half full cup. It may take a few hours for it but hopefully not.

Hamish's Ultimate Soccer Game.
Do you like playing sport ?
Well if you do, I've got the game for you. Soccer. There are 11 people in each team 7 subs and 5 reserves.
In each team there is 1 Goalkeeper, 4 Midfielders, 2 Forwards and 4 Defenders. Only the Goalkeeper can use his hands. We played for awhile and it ended up with it 2-1 to us. Here are some photos.

GO HOME STAY HOME 123
Harrison's teach the teacher
Do you like games? Well I've got the thing for you. 'My teach the teacher was Go Home Stay Home 123.
First you need taggers depending on how many people are playing. The players will go find a spot to hide.
The taggers will count to 45.When the taggers have finished counting the players tried to get back to their base.
When the players have got back to the base, assuming they HAVEN'T BEEN TAGGED while you're
touching the base, you say, GO HOME STAY HOME 123. The people who just got tagged by the
Taggers are now a tagger in the next round. SEE YOU ON THE FIELD PROS.

Monty's dog buzz
When Monty's dog buzz came in he was full of excitement and joy. He is so fluffy he gets trimed every 6 weeks that's how fluffy he is. They got him when he was 2 years of age. He is turning 4 on December the 12. We got to see how fast he is but he didn't want to share his talent so he just walked. He is the dog that loves attention so when Monty tried to throw the tennis ball he just stood there getting patted by all the students.

The Lady of Rm I has been challenged to a duel!
Jas had an amazing show for us during her Teach the Teacher. She was challenged to a duel by her sister. The sword fight took place outside Rm I. It was a challenging difficult duel but Jas triumphed in the end to protect her honour and remain the Lady in green of the Rm I House.
Thanks Jas, we really loved your Teach the Teacher session.
You can join the FAHS Sabres Fencing Club. They practice Mondays from 5.30pm. Contact gconlon@feildinghigh.school.nz if you are interested in joining.
Fencing is one of the oldest sports in the world and the first record of it occurring was in Egypt in 1190BC. Fencing came about from people having duels or sword fights to settle their arguments or disputes. They usually ended in death. In the 1900s duels ending in death were made illegal. Fencing became an Olympic sport for men in 1896, females in 1924.
