Hydrothermal Vents Experiment

Hydrothermal Vents: To do this experiment you will need a large bowl/bucket, cold water (that represents the ocean), hot water (that represents the hot water under the ocean, created by the hot vents), food colouring (so you can see all the magic happen) and a small container with a hole in the lid (that represents the vents in the earth's crust under the ocean). If you do this experiment you will see that hot water rises, because hot water is lighter than cold water. This experiment simulates what happens in the ocean with the hydrothermal vents.
