Who likes Fiji?

Here is a pamphlet made by Harrison, Monty and Conrad.
Our country is Fiji and here is our final product.

Room T's Butterflies

Room T had a huge swan-plant in the classroom. The caterpillars ate the whole swan plant. We had some of the caterpillars turn into butterflies!

Ooops!  We seem to be unable to find our mouths!!

On Friday, as part of Enviro Action Day, we ate some pikelets! These were part of the litterless lunch concept.  However, Ms. Burtenshaw got alittle bit excited and creamed Bodhi who quickly conspired to get her back..which he did!!

Room T's Action packed ENVIRO DAY!

On Friday Room T was hard at work in our garden helping the environment meanwhile others were sizzling the frying pan making scrumptious pikelets. Everybody was doing their bit to stop the weeds taking over our lovely garden. We had spades, forks, rakes, and many other gardening tools. We had our fabulous Room T photographers taking magnificent gardening photos. While we were in the garden the weather wasn't as perfect as the pikelets. Special thanks to Mrs Munro and Mr Ward for helping out.

Teach the Teacher

Not many Teach the Teacher sessions left for this year!  Gracie taught us a great game that she plays at her soccer rep training sessions.  Good for teamwork and ball skills.  Thanks Gracie.

Red Cross People Savers

Room H and Room I Year 6 students worked for a whole day with Stacey and Kate from Red Cross who taught them lots about First Aid and how they can help if they are the first on the scene of an accident or mishap.

PLANT TO PLATE

Manchester Street was very lucky to be part of Plant to Plate in November and Room H was VERY lucky to one of the 4 classes selected to participate.  How lovely it was to see Mrs Duker again.  We had a very busy morning working in the garden and cooking lunch.  We learned heaps about growing our own vegetables and cooking our own healthy food.  Thanks to all the wonderful volunteers who helped us.

Smack Bang M.S.S Takes the win

On the 15th of November, the Manchester Street Table Tennis Team took on the best the Manawatu had to offer in the  battle to win the title. Who was in are team you may ask. It was Brooke, Crystal, Ella, Quinn,  Kade, Nic, Nickolas and finally me/Cate.  It was a great day as some of us won our own separate titles as well as some team ones. The boys came second  overall and the girls came fourth overall and all together we came SECOND. Round of applause please...  I would definitely do it next year.
