What a fabulous end to our Matariki Inquiry as we walked to the lookout on Highfield Hill to gaze at the Stars. The earliest of us saw three of the Matariki constellation and a few other stars before the clouds came in. The full moon was beautiful especially through the telescope and the binoculars. Thanks to all the parents who got their children up bright and early on the last day of the term and a special HUGE thanks to the Mums and Dads who cooked us a hearty breakfast on our return. The karakia and waiata were shared with respect and I'm sure some of the neighbours enjoyed their new alarm clocks on Friday morning. Here are a few photos from the morning.

Breakfast with the Stars
What an amazing start to the day. After our hike up Highfield Hill we all went to the hall to enjoy a shared breakfast. An early morning start and fresh air always makes breakfast taste so much better. A HUGE thank you to our parents that came and prepared breakfast while students and teachers were greeting the stunning sunrise and mysterious Matariki.
