Room B's Moth Adventure


Room B is Room I's Buddy Class and when they visited us on Friday they were very excited about the very hungry caterpillar in their room. It had spent the day spinning its cocoon. Mrs Harris and the children told us first the caterpillars eat and poo, eat and poo until they get VERY fat. They then turn brown and find themselves a cozy nook in their branch. Lastly they slowly weave their cocoon. You can see their mouth moving as this process happens. These Gum Emperor moths are related to silk worms.
